A sizable group of Turtles visited Hamlin Forest on June 20 for a hike up to Crockett's Ledge. Our photo spot (and snack spot) overlooks Lake Wicwas. We hiked the yellow trails, and the bugs weren't as bad as expected!

Lockes Hill June 6, 2023
On June 6, a large group of Turtles hiked Lockes Hill in Gilford. It was a lovely day, and we enjoyed sitting in the stone seats that overlook Lake Winnipesaukee.

Wildcats June 6, 2023
Some of the earlier forecasts were calling for rain while at other times the forecast was calling for cloudy skies. We decided to go ahead and keep track of the weather conditions in case we needed to turn around. The hike to Wildcat D and Wildcat A turned out to be a decent hike. There was no rain. All of the Presidentials were clear of clouds for most of the time. It was a bit on the cooler side and windy. A few AT through hikers went by.
Here we are at the top of the Wildcat ski area, sheltering from the NW wind. L to R are Sue, Pam, Doug, Dave and Dick.

Moriah May 30, 2023
The weather was terrific for a great hike to Mt. Moriah (4049 feet). We used the Stony Brook and Carter Moriah Trails. The ledges on the Carter Moriah trail and the summit of Moriah offered some nice views of the northern Presidentials, the Carters and the Baldfaces. Nine of us enjoyed the hike. At some point during the day, a moose, red fox, snake and toad were seen.
Below are: Dick, Dave B., Jonathan, Marie, Doug, Pat, Bob and Becky. Ginger is kneeling.
Snow on the Presidentials.
Snow on the trail still!!
An interesting section near the summit.
Can you spot the toad?
We hope to hike the Wildcats on Tuesday.

B Group hikes Mt. Roberts, June 1st, 2023
B Group heads up to Mt. Roberts on a scorcher of a day. We started early, and enjoyed the views of Lake Winnipesauke throughout the hike. The overlook and ledges are one of the best parts of this hike, as the actual summit is a little more grown in, and doesn't offer the openness and lake views. However, the summit is still very pretty.
The day had very little wind, and we could see the haze created by the wildfires up in Canada. Overall it was a great day, and it's so wonderful to do a local hike with such a great group of people.
