Jefferson - July 15, 2021

Preferring a dry day for doing Jefferson, Tracy, Cathy, and Dick went two days later than scheduled. Weather was good, although warm and humid, with a light breeze above treeline. Much of the time was sunny, but clouds passed over the high summits by late morning, occasionally clearing out to give those fabulous views of Washington and Adams.

Below are Tracy and Cathy, well above tree line, with Washington in the background. Then there are Tracy and Cathy on the summit (a first ascent for both).

Here is a shot of Tracy and Dick, coming back down one of the steep pitches that got the trail on the "Terrifying 25" list. Here the poles become useless. Put 'em away or let them drop down the rock, then it's backing down like on a ladder, using hands and feet.
