Six of us OTHH hiked up to Starr King (a 52WAV), then over the ridge to Waumbek (a 4K), on a wonderful, sunny, reasonably mild day (as winter days go). The trail had been well packed by so much foot travel that the snowshoes stayed in the cars; microspikes were used the entire way. Below, at the trailhead, are Patsy, Steve, Pam, Marie and Matt (pic by Dick).
Then, at the outlook just past the Starr King peak, is a group pic of us taken by another hiker. In the background is the snow-covered peaks of the northern presidential range.
