Participant Liability Release

Over the Hill Hikers are a casual group of people that meet up to enjoy a hike.  We are not a club, or a non profit.  We do not have any official positions or benefit (other than the joy of hiking) from such a group.  We are volunteer based, and depend on the camaraderie of the group to organize hikes and establish a hike "leader".   By no means is that hike leader or organizer assuming any responsibility for your safety!  BE SMART!  Hike within your current limits, your current health and your current endurance levels.

By participating in a hike, or organized event, or outing with the Over the Hill Hikers you are accepting all risks and responsibility.  Hikes, snowshoes, walks, etc, are all physical activities that come with inherent risks, including but not limited to scrapes, cuts, strains, broken bones, falls, hypothermia, heat stroke, and even death.  There may be times of unmarked trails, uneven surfaces, and unforeseen circumstances.  You accept these risks, and release the Over the Hill Hikers from any liability arising out of injury or loss.

Lastly, it is recommended that you purchase the NH Hike Safe Card, carry the 10 hiking essentials, and be familiar with the hike you are setting out to enjoy.
